Secret Artist Sale – 2025 Wrap-Up
What a weekend! The Secret Artist Sale once again captured the imagination of Shrewsbury and beyond, raising over £13,000 for three brilliant charities: Alzheimer’s Society, Hive Shrewsbury, and Grinshill Animal Rescue.
By Sunday morning the queue stretched down Wyle Cop, with the first camper arriving at 12:15am to secure their place. By 8am the crowd was in full force, fuelled by tea, coffee, and biscuits — one attendee called it:
“An amazing, exhausting, life-affirming event... the conviviality amongst total strangers in the queue is remarkable... I can’t think of anywhere else that could happen.”
A Look Back

2022 – Our very first sale raised £8,500 in just over an hour, setting the tone for what has become a much-loved annual event.

2023 – We raised £13,000, with over 250 artists donating, including standout contributions from Joe Lycett, Harry Brioche, Sue Campion, and Antonio Villalba. The excitement was unmatched — some even camped overnight!

2025 – A record-breaking £13,000+, 221 works, and nearly £35,000 raised in total across all three events.
In total, 221 artworks were donated and sold, helping us push the running total from three Secret Artist Sales to nearly £35,000. The raffle, supported by Shrewsbury’s wonderful independent shops, and the silent auction of ceramics and paintings added even more to the total.
The cultural buzz was immense, with hundreds of people coming together in celebration of art, community, and generosity. And yes — the Secret Artist Sale will be back. Watch this space.

WHAT IS THE SECRET ARTIST SALE?
A two-day charity art event where every artwork is sold anonymously for £50—you discover the artist after you buy.Donations come from international names, national figures, local favourites and emerging talents, all supporting good causes. Expect a buzzing weekend with a raffle from Shrewsbury’s independents and a silent auction of curated ceramics, paintings and more. Since launch, the Sale has raised tens of thousands and draws crowds from the early hours.
