CAR PARKING AND VEHICLE ACCESS

Shrewsbury Town centre is largely a one way system, there is a loading bay directly opposite the gallery which is ideal for collecting and dropping off. Blue badge holders are able to park in the Blue Badge Bay a short walk further along the road on the right hand side, on High Street.

There are multiple car parks available within approximately 0.1 miles of the gallery. These include:

St. Julians car Park, 4-minute walk to the gallery.

NCP car park, 4-minute walk to the gallery.

Shrewsbury also operates an excellent Park and Ride service, which is cost effective and convenient way of getting into the town centre. All three Park and Ride sites all signed from the main approach roads. Buses run every 10 minutes from 7:30am (8am on Saturdays) to 6:30pm daily except Sundays. There are stops and pick up points throughout the town centre. Colour coded tickets make it easier to find the right bus.

TRAIN STATION / TAXI RANK

The Soden Collection is situated 0.4 miles from Shrewsbury Train Station, an approximate 10-15-minute walk. There is a taxi rank directly outside the main entrance to the station. Depending on traffic, a taxi can take between 3-6 minutes, with taxi fares varying.

Main Entrance

The main entrance to the gallery is located at the front of the building, there is one small step. A wide single doors open inwards. In warmer months, the door are usually open; however, in winter months, the door may be closed. Should you require access, please notify a member of staff, who will be more than happy to help.

Inside the Gallery

The entrance to the gallery is open and easy to move around. The main desk with client seating is also in this space.

There is a larger step into the next two rooms, to help we have installed a bespoke handrail made by one of our sculptors.

We offer to all our clients seating in the main gallery space and in the client viewing area. We also offer a friendly no obligation service to bring paintings out to a client in their own home to view in their own home.

TOILET/ CHANGING FACILITIES

There are no public toilet or changing facilities at the gallery. The nearest accessible public toilets and baby changing facilities are located on Butcher Row which is a 3 minute walk.

GUIDE DOGS / DISABILITY ASSISTANCE DOGS

All well behaved dogs are very welcome at the gallery, whether assistance dogs or family pets. During the summer months we leave water out for passing dogs. On request during winter months.
