This uplifting piece shows a geometric multi faceted figure raising their arms in a triumphal expression of confidence and self possession. The piece juxtapose this rapture with the fact that the figure could overbalance at any time hinting at the precarious nature of mental and physical health. This fragility and transience permeates Chandler’s body of work and echoes his own battle with health.
The base has a division, signifying that we stand on the fault line, in constant jeopardy, unable to predict the future, we teeter on the precipice knowing the next step we take as a species could signify triumph or demise.
