Antonio Villalba

1968 – Present

Spanish artist Antonio Villalba was born in Alicante in 1968. After studying at the School of Fine Arts and Crafts in his hometown, he then moved on to complete his artistic education at the San Carlos Art School in Valencia.

Villalba is a genuinely spontaneous, almost improvisational artist. Painting in oils, he is technically adventurous, using bold and dense brush strokes to achieve strong textural contrasts within the parameters of a warmly nuanced palette.

Acknowledged as a master of many subjects, Villalba has a particular penchant for Venetian scenes. His expressive works vibrate with colours and contrasts, yet everything is beautifully composed into a harmonious whole.
