Born Llangefni, North Wales. Williams is one of Wales’ most revered landscape artists, capturing the very essence of his native Welsh homeland in distinctive style. He was educated at Shrewsbury School and trained at the Slade School of Fine Art, London 1941.
Widely regarded as the defining Welsh artist of the 20th he was also known for his famous series of South American paintings produced in 1968, when he won a Winston Churchill Fellowship scholarship to study and paint in Y Wladfa, Patagonia.
