Born in Suffolk, UK. The Suffolk countryside features heavily in Newcomb’s work. Newcomb is the daughter of the artist, Mary Newcomb. 

She trained at Norwich School of Art, Bath Academy of Art, and Advanced printmaking at Wimbledon School of Art, in 1977. 

Her work has been exhibited at the Annexe Gallery, Wimbledon in 1979, and in Mixed exhibitions including Crane Kalman Gallery, Bradford Metropolitan Museum and the Whitworth Art Gallery.
