Salvador Felipe Jacinto Dalí y Domenech was born on May 11, 1904, in Figueres, Spain, situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains, just 16 miles from the French border. His father, Salvador Dalí y Cusi, worked as a middle-class lawyer and notary. While his father adopted a strict disciplinary approach to raising children, Dalí’s mother, Felipa Domenech Ferres, took a contrasting approach, often nurturing Dalí’s artistic inclinations and embracing his early eccentricities.

Prepare to be spellbound by the whimsical masterpiece, “Surrealist Piano,” crafted by the legendary Salvador Dali. Step into a dreamscape where reality merges with imagination as a grand piano takes on a surreal transformation. Watch in awe as the keys transcend their musical purpose, sprouting wings and soaring into the unknown. Dali’s intricate details and masterful technique transport you into a realm where objects defy convention and the boundaries of possibility are shattered. Don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in the surreal symphony of “Surrealist Piano” and witness Salvador Dali’s unparalleled artistic genius at play.

The monumental bronze sculpture of “Surrealist Piano” can also be seen in Shrewsbury during the Shrewsbury Arts Trail of 2023.
