Exclusive AP edition of just 35 created to mark the 40th Anniversary of The Curwen Studio in 2001, using original postcard images from an earlier set by Sir Peter Blake, printed in the mid-sixties entitled ‘Salut De Constantinople’.
Born Dartford, Kent. Blake studied at Graves End Technical College between 1949-51 and was Knighted in 2002. He is a prominent painter, sculptor, draughtsman and printmaker.
Blake is known as one of the leading figures of British Pop Art and co-created the sleeve design for the Beatles’ album Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band as well as two covers of The Who’s albums, the cover of the Band Aid single and the Live Aid concert poster.
