Born in York. Herald is a painter and printmaker who Studied illustration at Glasgow College of Art and completed an MA in Natural History Illustration at the Royal College of Art.

His works span several mediums including paintings, collages, linocuts, designs and motifs drawn from a lifetime of studying pattern books, popular prints, primitive art and poetry of Blake.
