Born Sydenham, London. Bernard Cheese was an English painter and printmaker, a fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers. Trained at Beckenham School of Art. Royal College of Art (1947). There he studied under Edward Bawden and John Nash.  Taught at St Martin’s School of Art 1950-58. Cheese was appointed senior lecturer at Goldmith’s College (1970-78); he also taught part-time at Central School of Art and Design (1980-89). His prints can be found in many public collections: The Victoria and Albert Museum; the Royal Collection, the Ashmolean Museum, British Government Art Collection and in the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
