José Borrell

JOSÉ BORRELL was born in Alcoy (Alicante) in 1969. His paintings have been collected by art collectors over the last 20 years and appear in different private collections of national and international galleries.

He is a great admirer of Sorolla and Dali, as he looks to adapt the colour and light of Sorolla with the surrealist touches of Dali. Borrell goes as far as including a transgressor element that breaks the relaxation that his nudes transmit.

Since his first major exposition in Malaga in 2002, Borrell has always been in great demand for his commissioned portraiture of people and nude muses which made him very popular. The artist continues to live a simple rural life in the mountains of Alcoy with his wife and son.

Here at the Soden Collection we are privilege to work with José Borrell exclusively in the UK.

‘His paintings are captivating and show a really passion for the female form, the figures almost pulled out of their surrounding and become part of another world where you can sit and enjoy the beauty in both of their subject and execution’ – Jonathan Soden
