Ken Taylor is a self-taught artist, specialising in miniature gouache paintings. Born in Liverpool, in 1939, he was educated at Holt High School and later trained as a graphic designer. After working in advertising agencies in Liverpool for 20 years, Taylor made the decision to move to a small village located near Oswestry.
As a result of being encouraged by other professional artists, Taylor pushed his artistic abilities towards miniature paintings. The majority of his miniature works are made with gouache and painted onto a black mount board. Much of the artist’s inspiration comes from the surrounding seasonal changes, found along country lanes and areas around his home.
Ken Taylor’s work has been sold worldwide and has many collectors. He has exhibited and sold many pieces of work at several exhibitions, including the Hilliard Society of Miniaturists and the Royal Academy, London.
Own Art is an Arts Council England funded scheme, which is designed to make it easy and affordable to buy contemporary art.
